As passengers return to the skies in record numbers ahead of the summer travel season, airports need to address crowding and help passengers comfortably navigate busy environments.
Synect set out to build a solution to positively influence passenger behavior by helping them to spread out and move through bustling airports with ease.
Synect worked with a team of behavioral scientists to devise a solution to influence passengers toward desired outcomes. By using principles of visual communication, internal motivation, color psychology and more, the team created content to give passengers friendly nudges towards the targeted behavior.
Using anonymous crowd monitoring technology and Synect’s ReadySeeGo® digital signage platform, the team designed a system to help passengers navigate complex environments and avoid crowded spaces.
Power in Numbers
Enter Evenflow Crowd Radar™. The portable ReadySeeGo® displays combine dynamic digital content, hardware, and software in a dual-sided plug-and-play pylon. Accompanying color-coded lights inform passengers of the areas and routes that are the most and least crowded.
Content, which can be customized to match any airport or brand, visually engages viewers and elicits not just the desired effect, but also the desired emotion.
Evenflow Crowd Radar™ has proven to be a massive success during a world-first trial at Orlando International Airport (MCO) in late 2020.
Business travelers located open areas as ideal places to make calls or work before boarding
Families enjoyed a game-like experience of following the green lights throughout the terminal
Parents said they had positive, low-stress experiences while navigating with children
Passengers praised the glance-and-go overviews that guided them to low-traffic areas
In addition to the passenger benefits, the ReadySeeGo® pylons offers airports a flexible communication platform that can be adjusted for immediate response to dynamic scenarios including weather alerts, facilities changes, emergency alerts, and more. Evenflow Crowd Radar™ was hailed as a massive success by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) Airport Consortium on Customer Trust.
