3 Stunning Examples of Seasonal Digital Signage Content

Updated: Jan 8

Airlines are projected to carry 6.4 million holiday passengers this year, TSA is encouraging passengers to “pack their patience,” and airports are finding resourceful ways to deliver holiday cheer. Savvy airports are using their digital signage systems to engage and entertain passengers with content that celebrates the season. Here are three of our favorite holiday visual communications campaigns for 2021.

Orlando International Airport’s Happy Holidays Travel Tips

Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Synect created a campaign combining localized content, gorgeous holiday imagery, and helpful tips for holiday travelers. Reminders about preparing travel documentation, packing prescriptions, and more play across a 700-screen check-in video wall, curbside displays, self-check-in, and other locations.

There are over 1,200 displays in MCO’s visual communication ecosystem, and Synect's Passenger360® drives layers of content and dynamic data across the digital signage network.

TSA Holiday Checkpoint Content

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and airports use a ReadySeeGo® security content program to enhance passenger experience at the checkpoint. The program’s friendly reminders and screening instructions got a seasonal update with hot chocolate, candy canes, festive sweaters, and more. Don’t forget, snow globes over 3.4 ounces must be checked in luggage!

Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport’s Terminal 3, the TSA Innovation Checkpoint, and other airports benefit from ReadySeeGo®’s security content program.

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport Winter Experience

Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Synect delivered a bracing winter theme across digital displays at the gate, security, transportation, and beyond. The frosty live-action video transports passengers to a wintery wonderland as they traverse the airport.

The Gate of Tomorrow launched earlier this year at DFW with custom content and a Passenger360® system from Synect. Since that time, it has been extended to multiple locations, including security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP), retail areas, wayfinding locations, and curbside.

Bonus Behind-the-Scenes Content

Check out this behind-the-scenes clip from the making of DFW’s Winter Experience. Crystallized freezing bubbles were captured for a dreamy effect. Our creative studio created and captured the theme using a refrigerated trailer kept around 20 degrees to beat the Orlando heat. Pro-tip: a careful process of cooling down and warming up the camera and gear helped ensure a smooth, successful production.

Visual communication campaigns can enhance passenger experience and create a unique sense of place at the airport year-round. Contact us for more inspiration, information, or to get started.
