Celebrating Award-Worthy Airport Experiences

Our team is bound for Barcelona! Next week, Synect’s Abagael Rudock will attend the Digital Signage Awards (DSA) ceremony, representing our clients and team. Our projects with the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and the Transportation Security Administration are nominated for eight awards at the 2026 DSAs!

We’re thrilled to see our clients and work recognized, and we can’t wait to celebrate the most innovative, effective, and creative digital signage projects of the past year alongside global industry leaders.

These nominations reflect one of Synect’s core beliefs: that digital signage should be more than screens and messages. When done right, it creates powerful, connected experiences that guide people, reduce stress, and simplify navigation.

Five Nominations for Annie’s Journey at MCO

For nearly a decade, the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority (GOAA) has partnered with Synect to build better airport experiences for millions of passengers. One of our collaborative innovations lives just above the security checkpoint for Gates 1-59 at MCO, where twin overhead video walls feature the airport’s beloved mascot, Annie the Astronaut, on an animated journey through the terminal.

Created by our Orlando-based studio, Annie’s Journey represents a significant creative and technical achievement. The experience combines playful animations and airport details with timely TSA tips to help passengers feel confident and prepared. Annie provides information, from 3-1-1 reminders to concession recommendations, and she delivers helpful information in a way that’s approachable, memorable, and fun.

The result is an experience that makes the airport more accessible, more efficient, and more enjoyable for every passenger passing through the checkpoint.

Annie’s Journey is a finalist in five categories:

  • Innovation in Management and Control Software

  • Immersive and Experiential Environments

  • Relevant, Timely Data-Driven Displays and Creative

  • Helpful Information

  • Large-Format Digital Canvases

Three Nominations for Enhanced Checkpoint Experiences with TSA

The theme of award-winning security checkpoints continues, with our collaboration with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in the running for three awards.

Two new ReadySeeGo form factors, Glance and Focus, expand our Better, Faster Security Checkpoints program. Working in concert with the classic ReadySeeGo Vision, these displays support passengers at every step of the screening process.

Dynamic action cards, covering everything from queue management to divestment instructions, educate and engage passengers. Wait times feel shorter, and passengers are better prepared for screening. Officers spend less time repeating instructions and more on screening, enhancing efficiency and increasing throughput.

This innovative approach earned nominations in three DSA categories:

  • Results-Driving, Customer-Facing Solutions

  • Customer and Partner Support

  • Temporary/Pop-up Projects

Setting the Stage for More Award-Worthy Airport Experiences in 2026

As we look ahead to 2026, we’re gearing up for a year filled with creativity, collaboration, and innovation. We couldn't build award-worthy airport experiences without our incredible clients, partners, and team. We can’t wait to bring more of their stories and successes to the global stage.

These projects demonstrate that aligning smart visual communication systems with effective strategy can transform even the most challenging environments into award-worthy experiences.
