TSA And Synect Premier New Solutions to Transform Airport Security Signs in Latest Pilot Program

Better communication creates better travel experiences, and there’s nowhere that proves this more than the security checkpoint. With the latest additions to our suite of communication solutions, we’re making essential information easier to access than ever before.

This summer, Synect and the TSA launched a new ReadySeeGo® pilot program at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) that features the newest solutions in our Better, Faster Security Checkpoints Program.

As is true for all of Synect’s work at the checkpoint, the goal was simple: to help passengers move through divestment and screening with more clarity, more confidence, more efficiency, and less stress. Building on our proven best practices for visual communication and the success of ReadySeeGo, our expanded solution suite delivers new tools, fresh content, and smart automations to make the checkpoint better for everyone.

MCO and Synect collaborated to create a warmer, more welcoming checkpoint.
GOAA and Synect created MCO’s award-winning Digital Aquarium to engage passengers and share real-time updates, which makes lines feel shorter.

New Solutions Create a Calmer, Smarter Checkpoint

This pilot marks the debut of several exciting new tools in Synect’s suite of visual communication solutions.

ReadySeeGo Vision

RSG Vision is easy to install and easy to update.
ReadySeeGo Vision installations are just as easy to install as they are to update.

Our famous ReadySeeGo Vision installations are impossible to miss. With a library of Synect-created content and a 600x3840 pixel display, these bright, vertical displays are perfect for delivering a wide range of custom, rotating content.

Placed just before the checkpoint , Visions help passengers understand what’s expected as they enter security. Silent visual reminders inform passengers of the latest policies, such as metal-free shoes staying on, to ensure they can divest smoothly.

ReadySeeGo Glance

Small-footprint, high-impact displays positioned near key decision points deliver just-in-time information as passengers prepare for divestment. Each 1080x1920 display pairs visual reminders with optional audio instructions to have ID ready, ensure any liquids follow TSA’s 3-1-1 rule, and to empty pockets before reaching the bins.

RSG Glance is easy to place and easy to update.
The RSG Glance is easy to place at critical points in the passenger journey.

These early reminders give passengers plenty of time to dispose of any drinks or other liquids, move personal items from their pockets to their bags, and be ready to divest by the time they reach the bins.

ReadySeeGo Focus

ReadySeeGo Glance delivers audio-visual instructions to help passengers as they load their items into bins and prepare for screening. The 1920x540 display runs parallel above the bins, showing passengers precisely how to load their luggage and sharing last-minute reminders to ensure passengers are fully prepared to go through screening. Soothing instructions delivered by our new narrator, Bill, give passengers another way to gather information without needing to look back at the screens.

RSG Focus uses audio and visual engagement to help passengers through security.
RSG Focus creates new opportunities for engagement in the checkpoint.

Together, these elements combine to create a coordinated, step-by-step communication system that supports passengers as they move through the checkpoint by delivering just the right information at just the right time.

Clarity at Every Step

The content is simple, specific, and designed to answer the questions TSA agents most often hear in the PreCheck lanes:

  • Do I need to remove my shoes?

  • Can I keep my jacket on?

  • What needs to come out of my bags?

Rather than relying on static signage or repeated verbal instructions from staff, Synect’s solutions deliver clear, consistent communication through visual action cards and audible instructions. Action cards are simple, visual cues designed to help passengers prepare for security with reminders about prohibited items, items that need to go in bins, and more.

They deliver the right message at the right time, reinforcing TSA procedures with clear visual cues, and now, with audio narration. As passengers move through the queue, the messaging adapts, transitioning from general reminders to specific, actionable instructions that help accelerate divestment. Together, these components form a coordinated, step-by-step communication system that supports passengers throughout the checkpoint.

This layered approach reduces uncertainty and empowers passengers to self-divest with less assistance, giving TSA agents more time to focus on what matters most: security.

Airport Security Signs Designed for Accessibility and Automation

Accessibility is a core component of Synect’s design process, and it’s especially critical for checkpoint communication. Every piece of content created for our ReadySeeGo solutions features content with large text, high-contrast visuals, intuitive animations, and friendly narration to support passengers of all ages and abilities. Audio options provide an additional method of communicating to passengers.

ReadySeeGo delivers information to passengers in a way that minimizes the need for manual intervention from checkpoint agents, meaning the checkpoints are calmer, more orderly, and more efficient. Simple update processes and smart functionality ensure that content shown is always correct, with minimal manual oversight needed.

Our signage works harder so that people don’t have to.

Smart Communication that Moves People

This pilot builds on Synect’s past successes in creating faster, friendlier checkpoints at leading airports like Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE), Orlando International Airport (MCO), and Harry Reid International Airport (LAS).

ABE built a faster, friendlier checkpoint using Passenger360 and ReadySeeGo.
ABE uses Synect’s Passenger360 system and ReadySeeGo installations to communicate with passengers before they enter the checkpoint.

Every airport is unique, but they often share a common goal: creating the best passenger experience while increasing checkpoint efficiency.

When communication falls short, even the fastest lines can slow down. Using dynamic, real-time content designed to proactively communicate with passengers across the entire checkpoint prevents slowdowns. Clarifying and communicating screening procedures and policies helps people move quickly through lines, divestment, and screening. Queues move faster, and agents spend less time repeating instructions.

Created with Collaboration

We couldn’t have created this content program without the incredible support and collaboration of our colleagues at TSA. From creating the content strategy to installing the hardware, every step has been a team effort focused on building solutions that work in real environments for real people.

Our team always takes time to kick back and celebrate a job well-done.
Our team always take a little time to stop and enjoy a job well-done!

We’re proud of the hard work our team put into bringing this experience to life. This new solutions launch marks a major step forward in passenger communication and security checkpoint enhancement with ReadySeeGo.

As Gina Marie Paquette said when we spoke about this project:

“It’s always a delight to work with TSA. It’s been such a thrill to see these new products come to life, and the implementation couldn’t have gone better. I can’t wait to get their feedback on the pilot!”
